NHS is a private non-profit corporation organized under state laws, and has an IRS 501 c (3) designation. The corporation is a locally controlled organization with special lending and affordable housing development as its main focus.
NHS is a CHDO, member of the national Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation’s NeighborWorks network, and a Community Development Finance Institute.
Over the last 16 years, NHS has built almost 300 new homes, rehabbed over 100 existing homes and has processed more than 1,200 loans totaling more than $12 million. Over the same period of time, NHS's bank partners have provided more than $25 million in loans. As an organization, our goal is to strive to meet our maximum capabilities everyday in order to provide efficient, adequate services and quality affordable housing to each client.
