Reedsburg Utility began its roots in 1894 by providing electric and water to the City of Reedsburg. In 2003, RUC ventured into deploying a fiber optic infrastructure that would reach to every home and business in the community. The fiber optic infrastructure now serves as a future proof method in providing the Reedsburg community reliable high speed internet, TV and telephone services. In 2011, RUC continued to build the fiber optic infrastructure to the surrounding rural areas of Sauk County. It will provide: true high speed internet at affordable rates, a huge improvement for residents and businesses currently confined to traditional dial-up, unreliable wireless, and costly satellite services, and enhanced abilities for education and business organizations to actively participate in the global economy of the 21st Century.
