The resort at Red Willow Lake was acquired by Bill and Vernis Haines in 1946. Bill and Vernis were responsible for building Red Willow Resort into a true destination. In it's heyday the resort hosted large events including bands, dances, rollerskating, baseball and softball tournaments. The resort was open 7-days per week and the restaurant served food, beverages, ice cream treats and candy.
