James Cress Florist started their store in Manhattan, New York in 1903. Owned by the Cress family since that time, the shops have since branched out onto Long Island; specifically in Smithtown and Port Jefferson Station. Brian McCarthy, CEO of McCarthy Group Florists, wished to make New York his eleventh state and the historic Long Island shop presented him with the right opportunity. In June 2011, McCarthy bought the business into the Smithtown building. Today, James Cress continues to provide flowers for the small family occasion to huge society events such as Bar Mitzvah's and Long Island Weddings.
