The recently-expanded Saline District Library is a 33,000 square foot building set on 14 wooded acres in the heart of Saline. Many windows provide wonderful views, and a nature trail leads visitors across a bridge and through the woods.

The library houses over 95,000 items, including books, large print books, DVDs, videos, music CDs, CD-ROMs, audiobooks (tape, CD, and Playaways), newspapers, and magazines. Downloadable audiobooks, ebooks, and music are available online. Internet access and online databases provide patrons with the most current information available and programming, including story hours, book discussion groups, summer reading programs, craft workshops, lectures, and more, is offered for all ages.

Meeting rooms are available for non-profit community groups and three study rooms are available for quiet study and small group meetings of up to 4 attendees.

A Saline History room provides various local and Michigan history sources, as well as a microfilm reader/printer and microfilm reels of back issues of The Saline Reporter newspaper. This area also contains two display cases of Bixby marionettes. The Bixby family lived in Saline for more than 100 years, and Meredith Bixby toured the South and Midwest for more than 40 years, showcasing his handcrafted puppets in 20,000 performances in schools, theaters, and community centers.

Local art is displayed throughout the building. Exhibits change on a regular schedule.
