The Children's Center of Surry was founded in 1996 and opened its doors in 1998 to serve families and children in Surry and surrounding counties. The main purpose of the Children's Center of Surry is the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse and neglect. A variety of supportive services are offered to the community and residential care is provided for youth who have been abused, neglected, undisciplined, delinquent or at risk of court involvement.
