**UPDATE on Aetna Call-blocking billing companies >> I called Aetna today about them call blocking billers. Oh YES, the guy I spoke with admitted it. He said they don't work with billers that waste their time on old claims. Their time is better spent working with doctors and hospitals on current issues. I just tweeted @Aetna and @mtbert (the CEO). Please retweet! It's on our Twitter feed at @AMBANet Here is what it said: Joe Russell @Aetna PPC admits discrimination against DRs Billers by call blocking billers trying to resolve unpaid claims & issues. @mtbert Please post about this and use the hashtag #AetnaCallBlocksMedicalBillers

CMS has a warning for providers in a FAQ update on requirements related to the ICD-10 transition: The flexibility program, announced July 2015, is ending Oct. 1. The flexibility program, announced in conjunction with the American Medical Association, stated that neither providers' claims nor their quality reporting submissions would be denied solely for using an unspecific ICD-10 code, so long that it was in the right "family" of codes. "As of October 1, 2016, providers will be required to code to accurately reflect the clinical documentation in as much specificity as possible," the FAQ update states, noting that many insurers are already imposing such requirements.
