According to the order prescribing the District, its general purposes are: 1. conserving and making provident use of waters and other natural resources 2. to reduce the pollution of the waters of the Pelican River Chain of lakes 3. to slow down the eutrification of the lakes 4. to regulate the water levels in the Pelican River Chain of lakes 5. to enhance their recreational facilities and to protect and improve the scenic beauty thereof 6. to improve the needed drainage 7. to provide needed soil and water conservation practices on the land 8. and for other purposes as found in the Minnesota Watershed Act
