Our beginner’s course (101) teaches students the fundamentals of writing and performing stand-up comedy - the methods of generating original material using unique aspects of your life, understanding concepts in formulating structured jokes and learning proper stage performance techniques. No previous experience required. A great class for those looking to add a little humor into their life while getting a hands-on insider's view into the world of professional stand-up comedy.
Our advanced (201) class is open to students of our previous classes as well as comics currently performing on a regular basis. As with our intro classes, the course will be five weeks with a Graduation Night on the Improv stage in the sixth week. The focus of this course will be to help you build a solid 10-12 minute set by enhancing your current material as well as using new premises developed in class.
