The NENY Safety & Health Council was organized in 1980, chartered by the National Safety Council and incorporated as a non-profit organization. The council began as a result of labor and management leaders in the Capital District concerned with the number of on-the-job injuries and accidents. The Council functions in accordance with By-laws adopted by its membership, which are part of the Corporate Charter
The mission of the NENY Safety & Health Council, Inc. is to serve as an educational resource for the prevention and reduction of accidents and occupational illnesses at work, in the home, at school and all public places; to provide educational materials, training products, programs and quality service; as as a Chapter, assist in the fulfillment of the broad mission of the National Safety Council.
