In 1982, The Coalition On Temporary Shelter (COTS) opened its doors with a new approach to ending homelessness in Detroit. Our first location was St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Corktown, where we offered 40 beds that provided an extended stay and support services. In 1983, COTS purchased and moved into the Peterboro facility where we provide a variety of services for over 2000 people annually. COTS has grown to include other full service facilities and multiple independent housing sites.
