Found in today's NWI Times... On this date in 1999

Early 1994 was when Bakker Produce started using the banana logo on their trucks... Check out the date on the top photo.

Bakker Produce Inc. added a new photo to the album: Bakker History.
Who remembers the "pre-banana" Mercedes Bakker trucks??? (Picture taken in January 1986)

Bakker Produce Inc. shared Planet Hammond's photo.
This was around the time when the original warehouse was located in East Chicago.
Stephen Fry: I attached a newspaper article from 1962 or 1963 from The Times of my family opening Deacon's Highlander Laundry Center at 623 E. Chicago Ave. in East Chicago, IN. The laundromat was opened just a couple of years before Bakker Produce moved from East Chicago to Hammond. In the picture from left to right: My great-uncle Wally Bakker and his wife Terry Bakker (co-owners), East Chicago City Controller George Lamb, Manager of the laundromat Deacon Williams, my grandmother Adrienne Bakker and grandfather Tom Bakker (co-owners).
