The North Country Prenatal/Perinatal Council manages major initiatives in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties in northern New York.
We serve as the regional coordinating council for maternal and child health issues under a grant from the NYS Department of Health.
We host Healthy Families Jefferson County with funding from the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.
Our services for youth include comprehensive adolescent pregnancy prevention programs and services and the YEAH! program.
Health insurance assistance is provided by our navigators who offer help applying for health insurance on the NY State of Health marketplace, including year-round enrollments for Medicaid, the Essential Plan, and Child Health Plus.
The Gouverneur Activity and Learning Center offers the Gouverneur community a healthy, warm, welcoming, family-oriented community center that encourages parents to drop in for companionship and peer discussion and support while offering free play and playgroups for young children.
With funding from the North Country Initiative, our Population Health program offers home visiting services to adults that have been diagnosed with a chronic illness.
