We appreciate the tradition of family fun in the sunshine!
Established in 1957 as “Adli Swim School”, the facility was built at the foot of the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula in South Torrance. In 1971, the facility was sold and renamed as “Akai Swim School”. Since then, Akai has been a family-owned business, successfully teaching the South Bay how to swim. Our program was developed by the founder of Adli Swim School, a former Olympic athlete. Along with our renowned swimming lessons, we also offer party rentals, and memberships for recreational swimming, year round!
We have 3 pools in an outdoor, garden setting, with temperatures ranging from 86°-90°. The pools were designed for instruction, with varying depths of 6-inches to 9-feet. The facility is equipped with a dry sauna, a shower in each restroom, available BBQs, and umbrellas and canopies for maximum comfort. We hope to continue to serve the South Bay with quality swim instruction and recreation, in a fun and safe family friendly facility, for many more years to come!
