Supported by the Pakistan diaspora, DIL was established in 1998 to address poor access to quality education in Pakistan's underdeveloped areas.
At our 134 schools, we deliver high-quality education to over 25,400 students, of which 66% are girls. Our customized curriculum emphasizes activity based learning that engages critical thinking skills and builds confident children.
We provide jobs for women in rural Pakistan, as our teaching force is comprised of 95% women. We build the capacity of teachers through on-going training and site-based coaching that ensures student-centered learning.
We actively seek ways to bridge academic success with opportunities in life. We provide scholarships for DIL graduates to attain higher levels of education, and IT and vocational training.
Community participation and trust are at the heart of what we do. After 20 years in the field, we've earned a high degree of trust, which has allowed us to encourage female enrollment and attendance, bring access to technology, and build a sense of community ownership.
DIL USA has active chapters in Atlanta, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington
