MedFlight is a not-for-profit, CAMTS-accredited air and ground critical care transportation company, based in Columbus, Ohio that completes over 7,000 critical care transports by Helicopter and Mobile ICU each year.
MedFlight is made possible by our consortium hospitals including: - Grant Medical Center/Riverside Methodist Hospitals (OhioHealth) - The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center - Kettering Health System
Although MedFlight is owned by a consortium of hospitals, we transport patients to the most appropriate facility. We transport scene patients to the closest appropriate trauma center. For other patients, the referring and receiving physician decide upon the most appropriate destination and mode of transport.
MedFlight’s air & ground based medical fleet consists of 8 community-based helicopters and 3 community-based mobile ICU’s consisting of 24-hour, 7-day-a-week service. Helicopter services are contracted to MedFlight through Metro Aviation, Inc.
