Current situation in the eastbound lane of the Cumberland Parkway at the 53 mile marker. East lanes expected to be closed approximately one hour.

The Columbia-Adair County Fire Department will be out starting this Sunday at 8am on the four corners of the square receiving donations for the 2017 Crusade year, which will end next Saturday night June 3rd. We also will be out Next Friday and Saturday at our normal locations and times. Just want to remind everyone, you should have received your church donation letters already if any church has not they may contact Charlie Crawhorn at 634-3512. We are proud to say the The Columbia-Adair County Fire Department has been collecting money for the crusade every year since 1963, and has raised well over 1 million dollars. Every dollar collected is given back to help special needs children.

Judge Executive Michael Lee Stephens Office would like to inform the community that the Adair County Annex Building Basement, 424 Public Square is open for a storm shelter in anticipation of severe weather expected this afternoon, May 24. Emergency Management Director Mike Keltner asks that individuals keep an eye on the weather and in the instance of severe weather, urge citizens that do not have adequate shelter to take advantage of the building prior to the event.
