We are so excited to be hosting The National Tour of the Wizard of Oz. In my job, I get to meet lots of terrific cast members, but I have to say that today I have met my favorite of all time. This is Murphy who plays the part of Dorothy's dog, Toto. We got to take a field trip to the Alma Intermediate School and meet the 3rd - 5th grade students. I hope you will be able to come out and see the show on Tuesday, October 24 @ 7:30 pm. Call 479-632-2129 or go to A big 'Thank you' to Lizzie Webb - the music director and owner of Murphy for letting me spend time with him - Teresa Schlabach, Executive Director.

We are loading in the national tour of The Wizard of Oz. They will be with us for the next 10 days tweaking their light, sound, choreography and set cues. This is what it looks like backstage for a broadway show. This is only the electronics. We still have the backdrops, set pieces, and costumes to go! Come see the live production - Oct. 24, @ 7:30 pm -

It was a 'swashbuckling time' at the Alma Performing Arts Center today. 'How I Became A Pirate' was shown to over 2,500 students. The show is based on a book by the same name and shows the students that home and family are treasures they can not find on any map. The Alma Education and Arts Foundation provided books to 2nd and 3rd grade students to keep and take home to read to their families and encourage literacy.

What's next? 'How I Became A Pirate' - Monday, October 9 @ 9:30 am. We are so excited - the show is SOLD OUT! So, all you pirates that are coming - ARRRGH! - get ready to sail off on swashbuckling musical journey!
