30 years ago on a trip to Montana, Jeff and his wife decided to test their luck at one of the local sapphire mines. After an enjoyable day and finding some great stones, Jeff decided that he wanted gemstones to be his career. Over the next years, he studied all gemstones and styles of cutting.
After becoming a master of this craft, he started his own colored gemstone wholesale company. He spent the next 20 years traveling to mines all over the world, working with stores across the country, and training his team of gemstone cutters.
In 2002 he realized that there was a niche in the local retail market that he would be happy to fill. A Cutting Edge now specializes in not only exceptional colored gemstones but carries the largest diamond jewelry inventory in the region.
