The first service was held on the eve of the Feast of the Assumption of Mary August 14, 1981 at 6:00 pm. at the temporary location of 4730 Frederick Boulevard. The dedication ...Mass was celebrated September 16, 1984 with Bishop John J Sullivan as Celebrant and Monsignor Emmet Summers and Father William E Daly as con-celebrants. The parish census grew form 75 families to over 300 families during the first three years. In less than ten years, a need for an expansion that would more than double the size of the facility was in great need. Monsignor Robert Murphy was pastor through this project. Dedication of the expansion was in the Fall of 1996. Pastors to follow (who actually led) Father Greg Haskamp, Father Tom Ludwig, Father Christian Malewski(current Pastor). Or Lady of Guadalupe is once again a growing faith community with ver 750 families.
