Help me recognize the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival by voting for them in USA TODAY's Best Wine Festival in America! http://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-wine-festival/hawaii-food-wine-festival-honolulu/ Here is why I feel this is more than a festival: "Through the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival (HFWF), I put the spotlight on the people of Hawai‘i, our culture, our food, our history, and Hawai‘i as a visitor’s destination. The festival has grown to include over 100 chefs from all over the world. The visiting chefs get to meet our farmers and learn about what we grow in Hawai‘i, and the guests get to try the different preparations of these products. I enjoy being a part of the Festival to be able to give back to our community. The proceeds of the event go towards supporting the future cooks and chefs in Hawai‘i as well as the next generation of farmers through organizations such as The Culinary Institute of the Pacific, Leeward Community College, The Hawai‘i Agricultural Foundation." -- Chef Alan Wong

Tune in to PBS on Wednesday(8/3) at 7:30 p.m. HST for "Family Ingredients" on PBS. I will be joined with host Ed Kenney as we take a journey back to Japan to follow the roots of one of my favorite childhood dishes, Miso Soup. This episode of "Family Ingredients" was the series' pilot that won an Emmy and helped secure national distribution of this locally-produced show.
Hawaiʻi viewers, we're taking a short break! Catch our new episode on August 3rd on PBS Hawaii at 7:30pm. We promise, it's worth the wait!

In my restaurants, one of the first things a guest receives is a basket of warm, freshly baked bread. The finale of their meal is often a carefully-plated and beautifully-crafted dessert. The bookends of our guests' experience at the table are made possible by our talented and dedicated team in Pastry, and right now, we are looking for more motivated individuals to join our Pastry team.
