Mar-Lu-Ridge is a year-round outdoor ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America situated in the beautiful Catoctin Mountains of central Maryland. We minister through our summer camp, year-round retreat and conference center, and programs offered throughout the year.
Mar Lu Ridge was founded in 1959 as the Outdoor Ministry of the Maryland Synod of the Lutheran Church. The initial construction efforts included a Lodge for dining and the construction of four cabins. This was the first year that summer camp was held. In 1962 our Chapel, Salem-on-the-Mountain was constructed; which is well known for its view of the Potomac River and valley below. In 1970 the construction of the Ridge Inn was completed, this facility offered 16 hotels style rooms with its own kitchen and dining facilities.
People of All Faiths Are Welcomed! Rules for acceptance and participation in Mar-Lu-Ridge programs and use of facilities are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, handicap, age, or gender. We are open to anyone, so invite your friends, co-workers, partners and see what Mar-Lu-Ridge has to offer to you.
We are located in scenic Frederick County, Maryland. An hour from Baltimore and Washington, DC.
