Welcome to Cofield Law Firm of Lexington, SC

The firm was founded by C. Thomas Cofield, III in 1985, in Anderson, South Carolina. Following his death, Cofield Law Firm was re-founded in Lexington, South Carolina in 2002 by Thomas C. “Tommy” Cofield, and Amy V. Cofield, children of the late Mr. Cofield. Since 2002, the firm has provided legal services in a number of areas, including personal injury litigation, workers’ compensation, business litigation, real estate law transactions and litigation, as well as in construction law, probate law, and mediation. The firm’s jury and non-jury practice is statewide. Both Tommy Cofield and Amy Cofield are admitted to practice in the State and Federal Court.

Tommy is a member of the South Carolina Bar, and he has formerly served on the Fee Dispute Resolution Board as a Judge as well as participated in the Bar's Lawyer Referral Service. He is admitted to practice before the District Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the District Court for the District of South Carolina. He is also a certified Circuit Court Mediator.

Amy graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School in December, 1990, and after passing the bar examination joined her father, C. Thomas Cofield, III, in practice in Anderson, South Carolina at the Cofield Law Firm. She continued in practice with her father until he passed away in 1994. She continued to operate her law firm as a solo practitioner until she moved to Lexington, South Carolina. In 2002, she joined her brother, Thomas C. Cofield, and reformed Cofield Law Firm.
