Sharing sad news.
Very sad to say Mrs. Stanislaw Osiczko Sledziejowska, one of the "Ravensbruck Ladies," passed away today at 93. One of the youngest Polish political prisoners experimented on at Ravensbruck Concentration Camp as a teen, she was so positive and courageous to the end. Three hours before she died she was talking with a group of teenagers by phone who came to Ravensbruck to commemorate the prisoners. They sang her a song and she was very happy. A beautiful way to spend her final hours.

We've noted in our tours that the Lapins, (Rabbits), were young women, in their teens. Irene Fainman was a child of six!
How wonderful to read. A Ravensbruck survivor shares her story with the HeraldLIVE - Port Elizabeth. 💜
Survivor Irene Fainman was taken away to a prison camp at the age of just six Irene Fainman was just six when her family were given 10 minutes to pack for a concentration camp where she would not see a tree or flowers again for nearly three years. Taken to the notorious Nazi concentration camp

Excellent article on the novel, Lilac Girls, and it's author's continued journey.
“Through the whole thing, I felt responsible for telling their story.” Many thanks to The Times of Israel for sharing Lilac Girls with their readers.
Author Martha Hall Kelly first heard of the female Nazi experimentation victims by accident while visiting a lilac garden — but then she kept digging
