South Suburban PADS is recognized as a leader in the southland region, managing a 14-site emergency shelter network, and is the largest provider of emergency shelter in the southland region, and the only organization offering shelter service seven days a week on an unrestricted basis.
In addition to operating 14 emergency shelter sites, SSPADS is the first agency in the region to develop and construct, in partnership with Turnstone Development, a 77 unit residential building specifically for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. In conjunction with housing SSPADS provides an array of supportive services including on site behavioral/mental health services, employment services and intensive case management.
Championing the idea of “neighbors helping neighbors”, SSPADS is active in recruiting volunteers from surrounding communities and building up a support system that ensures all south suburban cities, towns, and villages are served.
