Today we harvested bounty from our own garden at the clinic! Our kitties sure will be happy with the catnip, and the puppies have mini-carrots for their chewing pleasure!

In lieu of the recent closure of Waterville Humane Society, due to feline distemper, we urge all feline owners to make sure that your cats are up to date on their Feline Distemper vaccine. Feline Distemper is a dangerous and contagious virus that can infect cats of all ages. We strongly urge pet parents to get updated if not current on the vaccine. We also recommend owners that have adopted kittens/cats coming from area shelters to visit their local veterinarian for an exam, to make sure their new adoptee's are current on distemper vaccine, and that is has been correctly boostered. Please feel free to contact us or your nearby veterinarian for more information. Our thoughts are with Waterville Humane Society during this trying time.
Infection occurs when the virus enters the body through the mouth or nose. Whether illness results or not depends on the immunity in the victim vs. the number of individual virus particles (i.e. the amount of virus) entering the body.
