Raise awareness about tuberculosis on March 24

Today is #LynchSyndromeHereditaryCancerAwarenessDay. Lynch Syndrome (LS) is a genetic condition that affects both men and women. Individuals with LS have inherited a high risk of colon, ovarian, and endometrial cancers. If you or someone in your family has been recently diagnosed with colorectal cancer, the CDC recommends that the tumor be screened for Lynch syndrome, which runs in families. Screening for LS can help determine whether you are at higher risk for other cancers and also if your family members are also at increased risk for colorectal and other cancers. Close family members of LS patients have a 50% risk of having the condition. In Washington State, about 24,000 people have Lynch Syndrome, although most of them are unaware that they have this genetic condition.
