The Domestic Violence Shelter, Inc., known in the community as “The Shelter,” has been providing comprehensive services for youth and adults for thirty-three years. These services focus on intervening and preventing domestic violence, sexual assault and dating violence. Beginning as a grassroots effort by some dedicated women in the community, the agency was established as a vital part of the social service community.
