Chamber Music Tulsa was founded in 1954 to promote chamber music concerts, and ongoing educational outreach was established in 1997. It is the premier arts organization in Northeast Oklahoma solely committed to presenting affordable performances by young American chamber music groups, as well as world-renowned artists.
Each season includes a total of six chamber music ensembles, each presenting two unique weekend performances. The elegant Saturday evening Salon performance includes wine, light dinner and conversation with the artists in the intimacy of the Kathleen P. Westby Pavilion of the Performing Arts Center and is reserved for Salon and Weekend Series subscribers. The Sunday afternoon performance is open to the general public. In addition to these spectacular performances Chamber Music Tulsa commissions visiting ensembles to provide valuable educational outreach in schools, libraries and community centers. Our goal is to encourage young and old alike to pursue their love of music. This also accomplishes our mission to bring live chamber music to those who might not otherwise have the chance to experience it. Chamber Music Tulsa has touched over 5,000 Tulsa area youth in the the last five years through its outstanding outreach program. We are also proud to support promising young musicians through the Robert Heckman Memorial Scholarships, awarded to three music students annually. See “Education” for more information.
