Rose Vista Home opened in May 1960 for the purpose of providing beneficial long-term nursing care to those who require such, in a home-like atmosphere. From the beginning Rose Vista opened its doors to all who needed the level of care and service that it was staffed and equipped to give. The services of Rose Vista Home are extended to all those who need them without regard to race, creed, color, sex, national origin, religion or disability.
Members of the Sherer Family purchased the "home" in 1972, and family members have been involved in caring for senior adults for over 40 years. Rose Vista is privately owned. Noel Sherer, the currently administrator, has been at Rose Vista for 19 years and holds a Masters Degree in Health Services Administration. He has an open door policy where all parties -- including staff, families, residents, and volunteers -- are encouraged to share concerns and ideas.
Assisted and Independent Living facilities are also available on Rose Vista's campus, and these alternatives where established in the early 2000s to continue Rose Vista's tradition of high quality care and service offerings for the aged and their families in Woodbine and Harrison County. Over the years, Rose Vista has enjoyed wonderful community support and has established a strong reputation as a high quality care provider.
