Q'ero Restaurant shared Casa del Q'ero's post.
Tonight at our sister restaurant Casa del Q'ero- a close up and personal opportunity to meet & discuss traditional Peruvian weaving with visitors from the Chinchero community outside of Cusco! 5:00-6:00 pm
This is a great addition to our restaurant for the next couple of days! Gaby Puma and her mother will be Casa del Q'ero demonstrating the traditional weaving process using a back strap loom while sharing the history and process of creating the ancient traditional textile weavings of the Andes. Thier mission and goal is to spread to the world, raise awareness about this beautiful art of weaving. We support them to be able to sell their products so that they can find their way to support themselves and their community. Proceeds will help support Gaby and her mission. Come by and experience this one of a kind love and art of expression for yourself. #‎QuieroQero #‎CasaQero #CasaDelQero #Cardiff #SignatureDish #LoveForPeru #PeruHistory

#SignatureDish, this juicy mixture of beef, onions, tomatoes, amarillo chilli and soy sauce sauteed in a large pan (or wok) is one of the many contributions Chinese immigration brought to Peru. Lomo Saltado is sometimes known as a Criollo dish but more known as a Peruvian-Chinese dish; a favourite Chifa dish. #qerorestaurant #qero #foodiefestencinitas ##EncinitasDinner #History

Ají de gallina, Papa Rellena, Ceviche, Lomo saltado... These dishes are our monuments, the closest we’ll ever get to an Eiffel Tower or a Statue of Liberty. So when you taste them at either Q'ero Restaurant or Casa del Q'ero, try to imagine for a moment a different city, a place where an infusion of cultures has brought about a food revolution...this is Peru. #qerorestaurant #qero #foodiefestencinitas ##EncinitasDinner #History

Quinua...aka...Quinoa A food staple that's formed part of Peru's diet since pre-Hispanic times, this grain crop is considered so beneficial the United Nations named 2013 International Quinoa Year. Highly versatile and revered by people with celiac disease given that it's a tasty substitute for wheat, this superfood grows in the Puna and Andean regions, finding its way into any number of dishes such as Aji de Gallina, soup, our Lomo Saltado and many more... #qerorestaurant #qero #foodiefestencinitas ##EncinitasDinner #History

Our Spice of Life: Aji amarillo is basically the soul of Peruvian cuisine. It’s a small yellow pepper that offers some serious heat. It is the backbone to many of the sauces found in Peru. And then there’s rocoto. Rocoto is a red pepper that although small, is deceptively hot and packed full of flavor. It is revered in Peru. This pepper is a little harder to find than aji amarillo, but it is well worth seeking out. #qerorestaurant #qero #foodiefestencinitas ##EncinitasDinner #History
