Dear ASA Members, When you think of dissent, what music do you hear? What tracks would you include on a playlist queued up for “Pedagogies of Dissent” the theme for the ASA’s 2017 annual meeting? We invite you to suggest music for The Dissent Mixtape, a collectively generated and shareable playlist that will be distributed before the annual meeting. Please submit online any musical selection that performs, activates, or remixes dissent (in the widest possible sense of the term). The resulting playlist and, more broadly, the relationship between music and dissent are the focus of "The Dissent Mixtape," a presidential plenary session on Thursday November 9 from 6:00 – 7:45 p.m. at the annual meeting in Chicago. On behalf of the Program Committee, we look forward to (listening to) your suggestions!
Please fill in all required* fields below. Note that a response to the final section is optional. Every response section in this form will be reproduced in a "digital notebook" that will accompany the mixtape. The ASA reserves the right to grammatically edit responses for publication in the digital…

Given the deadline fo...
