Originally built as a school in 1907, this charismatic building stands high above the Cobre Valley in the shadow of the Old Dominion Mine, with panoramic sunset views of the Pinal Mountain range that give this mining community its southern border.
Original chalkboards in the guest rooms are decorated with comments from past guests, some of whom were students decades ago and come to stay at Noftsger Hill Inn Bed and Breakfast for nostalgia. They return for the amenities. These former elementary school classrooms are unusually spacious and each has its own sitting area and private bathroom. The front rooms provide a view of the ruggedly beautiful Pinal Mountain range, while rear rooms face the Old Dominion Mine, offering a picturesque look at historic copper mining operations. Hopscotch games are still marked in the front of the building and uneven steps show the wear of thousands of children during the school's 74 years of service. Former Governor Rose Mofford once attended the school.
What a great opportunity for the whole family to steep in history and "sleep in class"! The expansive guest rooms serve as conducive workplaces for business travellers as well and include complimentary WiFi.
