The Knickerbocker family started building pools in 1976, when Don was working at Wright Patterson and Edie was teaching in the Beavercreek schools. The two started off small, buying a kit to build their own vinyl liner pool in 1972. Eventually, the couple faced the choice between government job relocation and finding an alternate career here in Dayton. They had already begun building pools, greenhouses and custom homes for their friends and neighbors, and decided to stay in the area where their families were, and expand their new found business.

The Knickerbocker family now owns six stores in Kettering, Beavercreek, Springfield, Huber Heights, Tipp City and their home base in Xenia, where their offices and warehouses also are located. They also have two outdoor pool parks for customers to see both inground and above ground pools on display year ‘round at their Xenia and Huber Heights locations.

They build all types of pools of any shape and size, and have been featured for years in the prestigious homes of Home-A-Rama. They also offer a variety of pool/spa chemicals, supplies, and accessory leisure products including hot tubs, patio furniture, grills and hammocks.

Going green is an important concept to the Knickerbockers, and they have many products that will save the pool owner time and money, as well as be kind to the earth. These products include electric heat pumps, solar pool heaters, solar pills, mineral sanitation systems, alternative salt systems and automatic covers, to name a few.

Automation is the key to easy maintenance, so the pool owner can spend more time enjoying their pool. Robotic pool cleaners, automatic sanitation systems, heaters and electric covers are some of the products that make taking care of a pool simple.

Knickerbockers have a ‘year round professional service department ready to take care of your pool and spa needs. They open pools in the spring and prepare them for winter in the fall, repair and replace any equipment when needed, and offer regular cleaning and maintenance.

Jacuzzi Hot Tubs were introduced in 2012 as their new premier line of hot tubs, and offers many choices from a small patio spa for one or two people, to larger family and entertainment spas for up to ten. Hot water hydrotherapy has long been trusted to ease away aches and pains from work, athletics and the daily stresses of life, and offers a luxurious retreat in your own home. Water enthusiasts find that a hot tub on the patio next to their pool is the perfect compliment.
