Automec manufactures CNC gauging systems. Our positioning systems consist of a programmable control where the operator enters a dimension and a motorized gauging mechanism automatically moves through a sequence of programmed dimensions. These systems can be retrofitted to pressbrakes, shears, cut-off saws and punches.


Automec systems increase the productivity of the machinery they are attached to by dramatically reducing material handling during the manufacturing process. Our systems are noted for their ease of programming, high reliability and positioning accuracy.

About Us:

Automec Inc., located in Waltham, Massachusetts, was founded in 1969 and incorporated in 1972. Automec manufactures and sells computerized gauging systems primarily for the Metal Fabrication Industry. Some of our gauging systems are also offered in the Wood and Fenestration Industries. The gauging systems attach to primary fabricating machines like pressbrakes, shears, saws and punches to increase operator productivity.


Our History:

Automec, Inc. celebrated its 40th year in business as a small privately held manufacturer in 2012. Our 18 employees have been at Automec a combined total of more than 300 years. During this time our employees have amassed an incredibly amount of knowledge about both our products and their applicable industries.

This proud heritage translates into better service and support for our customers. In an environment of corporate takeovers, buyouts and foreign outsourcing Automec remains one of the few companies where you can still talk to the people that sold you the machine long after you purchased it.
