The Military Order of the World Wars is a 501(c)(19) non-profit Veterans Service Organization (VSO) organization, chartered by an act of Congress and recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which holds that it is “nobler to serve than to be served.” The Order was established in 1919 to promote the welfare of our Nation. Because it is not a self-seeking organization, the Order is widely respected and listened to, throughout all branches of the Government and across the Country.
The Order allows Officers of all of the Federal Uniformed Services and their families to become members, in order to unite in a strong program to promote National Security, Patriotism, Good Citizenship and Service to Country.
The Order is comprised of 117 chapters across the nation. In acknowledgment of the local chapter being the the focal point for the work of the Order, the role of the National Officers, National Committees and the National Headquarters is to support the Chapters. The Chapters hold regular meetings to hear important speakers on all issues, plan and manage programs and activities across a range of subjects.
