This is the official Facebook page for Mattoon Community Unit School District 2. Mattoon Community Unit School District 2 is located in Mattoon, Illinois. The district is comprised of the following schools: Arland Williams Jr. Elementary School, Riddle Elementary School, Mattoon Middle School, Mattoon High School, and Hawthorne School that houses the Neil Armstrong Program which provides a continuum of services to meet the educational, social, emotional, and physical needs of the students with disabilities; and Mattoon Area Preschool that provides preschool to students with disabilities and typically developing preschoolers. The district's total enrollment in December 2012 was 3,482. Enrollment at the individual schools was as follows: Arland Williams Jr. Elementary School, 741, Riddle Elementary School, 748, Mattoon Middle School, 810, Mattoon High School, 995, Neil Armstrong Program 44, Mattoon Area Preschool 107 total Hawthorne School, 151. Full day kindergarten is offered at both Williams and Riddle elementary schools. The YMCA offers before and after school programs for a fee.
