John F. Kennedy High School is one of four high schools in the Cedar Rapids Community School District. Founded in 1967, Kennedy has become one of the top rated high schools in Iowa and in the nation.
Kennedy is known for its superb academic program with some of the highest AP, ACT, and Iowa Assessment scores in the district and the state. Kennedy's performing arts programs are the benchmark of success. Our Show Choir, Theatre, Speech, Band, and Orchestra routinely earn high praise for their performances. And our athletic programs are top-notch, with numerous state appearances and championships over the last ten years.
