Claire O.Harkins is one of Art&Soul's newest artists. We are celebrating her work in a Featured show: "Celebrate Color" Color, whimsy and strong lines help Claire Harkins celebrate color. She likes to use interesting perspectives to draw the viewer in to her paintings. She paints divas (strong women), landscapes with a unique point of view, and interiors that tell a story. You are invited to move into her paintings. She paints exclusively in oils. She is a recent convert to Oregon and will be celebrating the local landscapes in to her most recent paintings. Claire is collected nationally, and is very happy to have Art & Soul Gallery be her local representative. This show will open February 28 and a First Friday reception will be on March 3, from 5-8 pm.

Journeys of the Heart This showing represents the last 4 yrs of my journey into painting. The subject of my paintings are varied and include landscapes (such as Highland Sunset, Big Moon Over Skye, Camo Aspen, or Dessert Heat), personal experiences such as my responses to my son's passing during this time (Contemplating the Universe, and Passing Over), and abstracts that capture emotional responses as well (Tiffany Glass, Father and Son, Crystal Cave). In this art form, emotion is expressed by me through the use of deep and dramatic color. As with my life, my journey focuses on the positive, and dwells in hope, even in a piece entitled Scar Tissue. My goal is for each viewer to experience an emotional response of their own. Of course, the secondary goal of all artists, is for the viewer to want to have that emotional response every time they view the painting in their own home. John’s paintings will be exhibited from January 31-February 27, 2017 Please join us for our First Friday Art Walk Reception on Friday, February 3, from 5-8n PM We will have Fine Art, Music and Great Conversation!
