SeaWorld shared Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden's video.
It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a manatee? That's right, this week manatees were taking flight in a coordinated effort between members of the Manatee Rescue and Rehabilitation Partnership. Thanks to our partners at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden and Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for taking in these young calves giving us more space in our manatee rehabilitation facility for future critical rescues. Click here to learn more about this coordinated effort
Welcome Pippen, Miles, and Mathew! This week, popular manatees Betsy and BamBam left the Cincinnati Zoo to return to Florida waters. BamBam will be the 14th manatee to be released after being rehabilitated at the Cincinnati Zoo. Meanwhile, three orphaned manatees in need of rehabilitation, Pippen, Miles, and Mathew, were brought back to Cincinnati and will soon be swimming and receiving tender loving care in the Zoo’s Otto M. Budig Family Foundation Manatee Springs habitat. Miles, Pippen, and Mathew will spend the next few days getting acclimated to their new surroundings. Visitors should be able to see the new manatees as early as Monday, October 23, but there’s always the possibility that they’ll be shy and stay out of view. If that’s the case, they’ll still be visible on a monitor in the Manatee Springs lobby. Click here for more details on the manatee move -
