Holy Family holds the distinction of being the first parish to be established in the newly formed Diocese of Palm Beach, founded in 1987. The first Mass was celebrated at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Ravenswood Road, Port St. Lucie, on Palm Sunday, April 12, 1987. Daily Mass was held in the garage of the Rectory. We quickly outgrew the Rectory, and in order to accommodate the increased number of people wishing to attend daily Mass, we then moved to the Treasure Coast Mall movie theater, lovingly named "Popcorn Heaven." Later in 1987, the Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses were celebrated in the Village Green Elementary School cafeteria.
On Palm Sunday 1990, just three short years later, the first Mass was celebrated in the new all-purpose building known as the Parish Hall. Then, construction of the church was undertaken. Finally, the first Mass to be celebrated in our church was the Midnight Mass on Christmas 1998. Since that first Mass, Holy Family's community of faithful has continued to grow. Classrooms were added to the Parish Hall in 2002, and Ryan Hall--an additional 3,500 sq. ft. meeting space-- was dedicated on May 28, 2006.
Thank you for your interest in our parish! We welcome all visitors to our Masses and events.
