Since the late 1940's, Olde Colony Bakery has taken great pride in sharing its rich Southern heritage and unique Lowcountry specialties with visitors and locals. Among the favorites are the Original Charleston Benne Wafer, Benne Cheese Zingers, Carolina Key Lime Cookies, Ginger Snaps, Cream Bread, and Cinnamon Raisin Bread.
The Rix family, including son-in-law Jim, have owned the business since 1990. The bakery relocated to a larger facility in neighboring Mount Pleasant in August 2000, to meet their customers' needs. Then, in 2013 we moved again to our own building off Long Point Rd in Mt. Pleasant.
All specialty items continue to be made and packed the old fashioned way…by hand.
