Michael M. Simpson + Associates, Inc. (MMSA, Inc.) is a 100% minority-owned, SDB enterprise located in Greenville, South Carolina. Established in 1999, MMSA’s engineers and designers average over 25 years of experience in structural engineering. MMSA has a team of 13 employees, with seven (7) registered professional engineers. MMSA’s team is a well-trained, highly motivated and loyal workforce. Although MMSA qualifies as a small business enterprise, we are well-equipped and experienced in providing quality structural engineering design expertise and technical competence to manage and deliver large and small projects simultaneously. We are organized to maintain project schedules as well as select economical and feasible building framing systems and foundations systems to help control cost. At MMSA, we demonstrate a clear commitment to each project, which is central to our day-to-day working lives, and we aspire to excellence in everything we do.

Michael M. Simpson + Associates, Inc. provided construction inspection services of new multi-family projects or the repair or rehabilitation of existing multi-family projects for the Atlanta Hub geographical area of HUD. These services included all management, supervision, personnel, equipment, materials, suppliers, special purpose inspections and warranty inspections, and services necessary to perform, schedule, coordinate, and assure effective performance of all assigned construction inspections for multi-family properties. MMSA merited an “Exceptional” CPARS (Contractor Performance Assessment Report) rating by HUD Fort Worth office citing “The contractor MMSA Inc. is rated as EXCEPTIONAL due to the high quality of service in adherence with contractual requirements.”

Michael M. Simpson, , is MMSA’s President / CEO with office location at 30 Patewood Drive, Suite 100, Patewood Building One, in Greenville, South Carolina. Michael is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (class of 1982). Michael has 100% ownership and control of both the operations and management of the firm. Each project is led and managed by Michael Simpson, , a structural engineer with 30+ years of experience in structural framing and foundation design of steel and reinforced concrete buildings, parking garages, and building construction administration / inspection. He has specialized experience in structural inspection, study and design of additions, alterations and repairs to timer, reinforced concrete, masonry, and steel framed structures.

More notably, MMSA provides consulting structural engineering for 10% of the top 100 design firms on ENR’s Top 500 Design Firms listing and 15 of the top 50 contractors on ENR’s 2013 Top 400 Construction Firms listing (ranked, respectively, by design services and by construction 2013 revenues).
