The Avoca Hose Co. No 1 has been proudly serving the residents of Avoca, Pa and surrounding communities since 1887.
Year by year, the demands of the local volunteer have increased and so has our loyalty to our residents. Our department is 100% volunteer, 100% of the time.
Today, the members of our department serve not only the residents of Avoca, but we also respond on mutual aid box alrams to Duryea, Dupont, West Pittston, Moosic, Old Forge, and Laflin Boroughs, Pittston City, Pittston Twp, Jenkins Twp, and Northmoreland Twp. We are also a fire alarm rescue company for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport and part of the Luzerne County Technical Rescue Team.
