Scaling treats gum disease before it becomes severe. Root planning and scaling allow us to clean all the way to the roots. A local anesthetic is used to prevent pain during the procedure. He is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry and opened a practice in Shelton in 1978. Dr. Ganz is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) and received both their fellowship in 1984 and Mastership in 1999. The mastership honorarium is held by less than 1 percent of all dentists only after completion of over 1600 hours of continuing education.
