Happy Mother's Day! Tell us about your mom below- even add a picture if you like!

Had to share a poem from my niece- Year of Increase Above the field I stand and here survey The rows I walked, the troughs I plowed. I dig The dirt out from my fingernails, and sweat Runs down my arms and stings my bloody, scraped - Up knuckles. Though the field is wide, it’s gray And dry, the dirt is crumbling powder, dust. My joints are loose, my muscles tightly wound And bruised. My hands are empty. What will grow? In early years, I worked an easy plot Which, at the time, seemed hard. But now I look Upon the rows undug, what I still have Ahead. And now I know how empty are my hands, how broken is my meager strength. O Lord, what can you take that I have not Already given? I know when I ask That you will answer. Scared, I ask you still. When I wake up, I’m face-down on the ground, my lip is busted, bleeding, and my whole Face wet with tears. And dizzy, I stand up To watch the sun set underground and leave The sky on fire. Lightning cracks the flame, But when the thunder comes, it shatters and Falls down in pieces all around my feet, The icy water stains the gray earth black. And all your rains and all your grace flood down On me, but I am far too weak to run For higher ground, and I will not say “when”; No, I will watch the water fill the field And I will fall down on my knees in mud And crying say my quiet thanks that you Have heard me ache and groan with all the world, Have given me your grace, more than enough For just today. O Lord, you know my faith Is half a mustard seed-- but maybe that’s the point. And Father, now I give you this Small faith with this small field, and trust That you will water and redeem my work, This year. Grayce Owens -
