Community Education works to identify community needs and resources and match them to promote total development of individuals and the community. It expands the concept of education from kindergarten through grade 12 to all community members by encouraging life-long learning.
Lake Superior Community Education: - Encourages public use of school facilities, programs and services by every age group in the community - Has an Advisory Council (made up of district residents) that guides and advises the department in the development of classes and programs to meet the identified needs of the community - Works with county and regional organizations to promote lifelong learning opportunities by collaborative programming, shared facility use and cooperative grant proposals - Programs serve our population from early childhood through senior citizens. Programs and functions , include ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education), Census, Preschool, KIDS & Co ( our school age childcare program), afterschool enrichment, youth development, recreation and adult enrichment. - We publish the "Good News" four times a year which is Lake Superior School District's brochure and contains our current classes
