The Franklin County Bar Association serves as the professional organization for attorneys interested in promoting the administration of justice and standards of excellence in the legal profession. Through the efforts of attorney volunteers and a dedicated administrative staff, the Bar Association develops and sponsors member services, including a monthly newsletter, a variety of educational programs, public forums, and social events. In addition, the Bar Association offers a Lawyer Referral Service and provides programs and services for the community. Members of the Bar work with the Courts and the community on projects to benefit all. Law Day in Franklin County, celebrating the importance of the rule of law, is a collaboration with Greenfield Community College. The Northwest District Attorneys Office is involved in many FCBA activities. Scholarships for local college bound high school students are awarded. Franklin County attorneys continue to create new and innovative programs, especially for members of the community who have traditionally experienced difficulty obtaining legal assistance.
