Chemist and founder Richard "Dick" Meehan formulated Marko's brand name cleaning detergents - quality soaps which outperform the competition. When asked why he started Marko, he said, "I figured that if I could make money for two other companies, I could make more money on my own." Perseverance, good management skills, and a love of people served him well until he passed away in 1991.
