Daylight Donut Flour Co. supplies over 500 individually owned & operated "Daylight Donuts" shops in 30 states and 6 countries and is steadily growing at the rate of 3 to 4 shops every month. Its solid growth can be traced back to 1954, when Tommy and Lucille Day founded the company, adding "light" to their last name to describe the texture and flavor of their popular donut flour mixes. The Days produced their famous mix fresh each morning and sold it to local shops in the afternoon, most often from the trunk of their own car.

Tommy and Lucille Day retired in 1977, selling the company to Jerry and Linda Hull of Tulsa. By that time, Daylight had grown to include over 200 shops. More products and a line of donut-making equipment was developed by the Hulls. That same year, John and Sheila Bond of Tulsa opened their first Daylight Donuts shop in Stigler, Oklahoma. After opening and operating three stores over the next decade, they sold their shops and John went to work at Daylight’s corporate offices in 1987. Fifteen years later, John and Sheila bought the company upon the Hulls’ retirement in 2002.

The owners of Daylight Donuts shops come from all walks of life and include teachers, accountants, doctors, lawyers, personnel managers - even recording artists. All wish to enjoy self-employment and the investment potential of operating a new and profitable business.

Daylight management sees no end to the donut market. The latest market predictions, backed by global appetites, are proving them to be absolutely right. The future always looks bright at DAYLIGHT DONUTS!
